The Sacramento Valley Station is a much beloved iconic structure of the Sacramento region; however, there are many opportunities to improve the station for passengers. The City is reconfiguring the space to create operational efficiencies and a better, more convenient passenger experience.
The original function of the main lobby and passenger concourse which now houses Amtrak’s ticketing and baggage will be returned to the original configuration. Amtrak operations will be gathered to the west end side of the building, resulting in better passenger flow and opportunities for additional outdoor seating and café vending. The east side of the building and upper floors will be brought to leasable standards with the intention of a variety of vendors to occupy very unique spaces.
